CPC is the prime contractor for this project, located in the 546-acre Eagle Island State Park. The project consists of a new 300' concrete girder bridge over the north channel of the Boise River, entry road improvements, and retaining walls. The new bridge will accommodate vehicle, pedestrian, and equestrian traffic. The bridge is part of the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation Eagle Island State Park Master Plan to connect Highway 44 to Eagle Island State Park. After bridge construction, the north portion of the park will be developed for camping areas, kayak/canoe launching sites, picnic areas, an education center, and an amphitheater. Construction will begin in Summer 2008 and should be complete by Spring 2009.
